Do you use live bait when Bass Fishing?

I have used live bait and lures to catch bass. I generally catch Smallmouth Bass. The trick to catching this type of  fish is finding their holes they tend to hang out at. They seem to like rocky areas. I like to fish from shore and so I try different areas until I find the hot spots. I've caught them on live bait such as nightcrawlers fished with and without a bobber. Minnows are a great bait to use  as well. They seem to really like leeches as well fished with a bobber I have found. The best bait I found they like the most is crawfish.

What is the best live bait to catch These Fish?

I have found that if I really want to find out if the Bass are biting, all I need to do is put a small crawfish on and with in seconds I get a hard hit. They are my favorite living bait for smallmouths. For the size of these fish pound for pound there is not a fish that will give you a better fight. I like to river fish for them. I have spots I fish year after year. I catch some nice fish too. Most of them I release alive back into the river. Its fun to catch them on twister grubs as well. The scented ones seem to do really well. I usually take my camera and get some nice pictures so I can back up my fish stories. Now remember to try different live baits in your area until you find your favorite best living bait.
