The Hottest MMORPG Games Right Now

2010 is shaping up to be a very exciting year for fans of MMORPG games. The big dog in the house is of course still World of Warcraft, but there are plenty other releases that show great promise. We have already seen the launch of interesting titles such as Star Trek Online and Global Agenda, but the best is yet to come. Developers have been trying out new concepts, new ideas and constantly tweaking game modes to deliver new and innovative online experiences. It's not only paid subscription style games that have been booming, free MMORPG games have become much better recently. With that said, the games we are looking forward to playing the most this year are:

Star Wars - The Old Republic

The Star Wars universe is perfect for a MMORPG game, so it's actually surprising that it hasn't been explored in full before. For some reason, Sci-Fi games do not do well in the MMORPG genre. The closest thing to be a massive success would be Eve Online, but it pales in comparison with the more popular fantasy worlds. Star Wars - The Old Republic may change all that. The game is developed by Bioware who is new to multiplayer games, but not new to RPGs or Star Wars games. This will be an interesting game to follow.

Allods Online

Allods Online is a free MMORPG game likely to wow (pun not intended) and impress most gamers. The game builds on the popular Allods series (also known as Rage of Mages), the game will feature 6 races and 8 character classes. Based on the floating islands called Allods, this title is a great mix of traditional online RPG fantasy and sci-fi. One to try for sure!

World of Warcraft - Cataclysm

World of Warcraft really needs no introduction. The latest expansion pack is called Cataclysm and is no ordinary addon. The old world will crumble by the return of Deathwing the Destroyer. Two new races in Goblins and Worgen have been added along with lots of new concepts like high level zones and new battlegrounds.
