Shimano introduced the 1st Chronarch in 1993 and ever since then new materials, new design features and new technologies have been utilized on each upgraded line-from the Shimano Chronarch baitcaster Series of reels.

Shimano has always combined the ideal features from old and added them to the new to come up with very successful reels.

The redesigned Shimano Chronarch Baitcaster comes complete with exciting features that make this reel much better than ever before. Now most of these modern features are found inside the latest Shimano Chronarch Baitcaster Series of reels.

As you lift it from the box the first thing that you notice will be the new sleek body design which has resulted in a significant weight reduction and improved ergonomics. The following point you find would be the colour and very durable finish on the Chronarch due to the Ion Plating technology exclusive to Shimano, the same Ion Plating applied for the Stella Reels.

Take notice of the Aluminium spool as far as I know its a brand new design to provide you with longer and smoother casts,it somehow reduces inertia that allows the spool to spin with more speed

The entry point to reach the VBS centrifugal braking system is changed from the screw lock system to a user friendly trigger system saving time if you have to make changes/adjustments while fishing.

Another exclusive recent innovation of shimano's relates to the HEG; High Efficiency Gearing.

They have increased the diameter on the gear wheels which in turn provides you with far more leverage and much greater speed on the retrieve.

Some other attributes of the chronarch range from the Dartanium Drag material giving you the smoothest drag ever, specially treated anti-rust bearings A-RB as well as plenty other functions listed below.
