In the crowded market for netbook computers models seemingly come and go overnight as makers scramble for just the right combination of features, colors, sleek looks, and affordability to entice consumers into the purchase a sub-notebook. Most laptop manufacturers offer a netbook line, but according to independent reviewers only a few companies consistently get their netbooks right. Almost from the beginning the MSI Wind in its various configurations has been one of the very best entry-level netbooks.
The Wind MSI netbook is offered in several configurations. It uses an Intel Atom processor in a standard 10" netbook. Wind netbooks all feature built-in webcams, 802.11b/g/draft wireless LAN and significant hard disk storage. Most MSI netbooks ship with Windows 7, though Windows XP is still available on select models.
While most reviewers like the MSI Wind's long battery life and the clarity of its wide-screen display, it's the ability of the MSI Wind to boot, load, and run alternative operating systems that makes this netbook especially popular with those who like to experiment with their notebooks. Many Linux distributions run on the Wind virtually out-of-the-box. And users report that the MSI Wind has successfully booted the Mac OS as well. The oversized ergonomic keyboard makes typing on the Wind much easier for users used to a conventional laptop keyboard.
Purchasing an MSI netbook takes a little more effort than finding some other notebook computers. Unlike popular netbooks like the Acer Aspire, the Wind is not deep discounted at a local Wal-Mart or another retail box store. Several well known MSI netbook Internet vendors include CDW, NewEgg, TigerDirect, and JR Electronics.
Several specialty electronics retailers including Best Buy, and Fry's, stock popular MSI netbooks as do office supply retailers Staples and Office Depot, however a wider selection of MSI Wind configurations may be found when shopping online vendors. The manufacturer's website http://www.msimobile.com also has special promotional offers and links to selected netbook dealers.

Harvest the Wind $27.95 Winds sweeping across the Great Plains once robbed the Farm Belt of its future, stripping away overworked topsoil and creating the dreaded Dust Bowl of the 1930s. Today, those winds are bringing new hope to the declining rural communities of the central United States. Nowhere is wind's promise more palpable than in Cloud County, Kansas, home to the Meridian Way Wind Farm, whose turbines are boosting farm incomes and bringing green jobs to a community that has watched its children flock elsewhere. Modern wind power is the best thing to hit this stretch of midwestern prairie since the Union Pacific railroad. In Harvest the Wind, Warburg brings us the people behind the green economy-powered resurgence in Cloud County and communities like it across the United States. This corner of Kansas is the first stop on an odyssey that introduces readers to farmers, factory workers, biologists, and high-tech entrepreneurs--all players in a transformative industry that is taking hold across America and around the globe. Harvest the Wind serves as an earthly antidote to the more abstract treatises on global warming and green energy. By showing us how practical solutions are being implemented at the local level, Warburg offers an inspirational look at how we can all pursue a saner and more sustainable energy future. |

Zonda Wind $68.51 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Zonda wind (in Spanish, viento zonda) is a regional term for the foehn wind that often occurs on the eastern slope of the Andes, in Argentina. The Zonda is a dry wind (often carrying dust) which comes from the polar maritime air, warmed by descent from the crest, which is some 6,000 m (18,000 ft) above sea level. It may exceed a velocity of 40 km/h (25 mph). While this type of fhn wind may occur over most central parts of western Argentina, its effects are more impressive in La Rioja, San Juan, and northern Mendoza provinces, because the mountain barrier (the Andes) is higher, while to the north the Puna plateau dissipates these winds. The Zonda wind is basically produced by the northeastward movement of polar fronts, and although is hot and dry at the lowlands, it is the main mechanism for snow precipitation at the high altitude chains, where it looks as viento blanco, reaching speeds sometimes over 200 km/h. Thus, instead of being a snoweater, this wind is particularly important for this arid region, as it is connected to the buildup of the winter snow cover and accumulation over the scarce local glaciers. Investment in Wind Energy in Europe $101.96 Wind energy industry is young and has been growing rapidly for the past 15 years, with over half of global installed wind power capacity located in Europe. Although there has been a large amount of literature focusing on the development of wind power in Europe, little econometric research has been done in this area. This book sets to find out whether there is a direct relationship between the fuel prices and the level of investment in wind power in the EU countries. The research is based on six year panel data on the European Union countries. The results of the research are as follows. No direct link has been found between the fuel prices and the investment in wind power. Moreover, wind energy support schemes which are unobserved factors in the model, have been found to have an impact on the investment in wind power capacity. On top of it, GDP per capita has a positive and statistically significant effect on the investment in wind power, suggesting that European countries in the higher income range were more likely to invest in wind power in 20012006 rather than those in the lower income range. This work should be especially useful for energy policy researchers and economists. Wind Turbines (UK Domestic) $54.86 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Wind turbines have been on the United Kingdoms domestic market many years, but their popularity and public awareness is now increasing substantially. Claims about their efficiency and productivity are under some debate due to the disparity of manufacturers forecasts with case study results. The prime problem is that they are routinely being installed in areas with wind speeds much too low to realise a useful level of energy return. Windpowered electricity generation requires wind speeds above those found in the great majority of inhabited areas. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Timpledon, Miriam T./ Marseken, Susan F.
