For me, there's nothing more exciting than standing on a windswept beach at dawn and making that first cast out beyond the breakers. Sea fishing is one of my favourite pastimes, and I've got a boatload of sea fishing tackle to prove it. But when it comes to choosing the right gear, I find myself returning time and again to those reliable rods and reels that have worked well for me in the past. When I have a successful fishing excursion, I always make note of the gear I used. And my ABU Garcia Ambassadeur 6600 C4 Classic multiplier reel turns up on my list quite often. About the ABU Garcia Ambassadeur 6600 C4 Classic Multiplier Reel
The ABU Garcia Ambassadeur 6600 C4 reel is a Swedish-built, high-precision product that features durable and corrosion-resistant stainless steel and brass construction. Recently redesigned to be even tougher, this reel will stand up to the roughest use. The nickel-coated levelwind system is quite durable and the reel has a six-pin centrifugal braking system that's ready to take on any fish. There's also an improved Carbon Matrix D™ drag system that is 35% stronger than its predecessor. The high-performance gearing is smoother and stronger than the original and is expected to last as much as 200% longer. The reel has three stainless steel bearings and one roller bearing.

The aim of the engineers who redesigned the Ambassadeur 6600 C4 was to make it cast farther and retrieve more smoothly while enduring a good degree of abuse from hurried or careless anglers. The reel holds 200 yards of 20 pound monofilament line. The retrieve ratio is 6.3:1, making it a high-speed reel that's perfect for anglers who require a quick retrieve. The Ambassadeur 6600 C4 also features instant anti-reverse and a non-slip spool. The patented Smart Mag Brake™ combines the mechanical and magnetic braking systems into a single, easy-to-adjust dial. The reel has a capacity of 245 yards of 14 pound test line and weighs just 11.3 ounces (320 grams).
About ABU Garcia
The A B Urfabriken (ABU) company was founded in Blenkinge, Sweden in 1921 and originally manufactured watches, taximeters and telephone timers. The company's founder's son, Gote Borgstrom, was a fishing enthusiast and quickly refocused the business on fishing tackle in the years surrounding World War II. Meanwhile, in the US, the Garcia Corporation, the country's largest fishing tackle company, began importing and selling much of ABU's high quality fishing tackle in the 1950s, including the renowned Ambassadeur reel line. In 1980, ABU acquired Garcia and changed their name to ABU Garcia, now one of the most recognised names in fishing tackle and technology.
